(Weekend Ride)

17th-20th July 2020 Friday to Monday

 

Come and join the chapter as embark on a weekend adventure to the village of Lamesley three miles south of Gateshead and the River Tyne. We will be routing up there via motorways and B roads. Cookson Country where celebrated novelist Catherine Cookson set so many of her novels. Cookson's mother Kate Fawcett worked as a barmaid at The Ravensworth Arms. This historic pub restaurant takes its name from nearby Ravensworth Castle home to the distinguished Liddell family for over 350 years. Alice Liddell was the inspiration for Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Carroll whose real name was Charles Dodgson stayed at The Ravensworth Arms when visiting the family.

Ride Out 1 Saturday 

Our plan is to team up with the UK’s “Geordie Chapter” to take us through their beautiful City of Newcastle, taking in the scenery of the watchful eye of the ‘Angel Of The North”

 

Ride Out 2 Sunday 

We will be grouping together for our last ride of the weekend to Northumbland, taking in the wonders of the coastal roads. where we will be visiting Holy Island Lindisfarne
